Leading Unified IT Initiatives
The Idaho Technology Authority (ITA) serves as a central coordinating entity bringing together branches of state government to build a cohesive foundation for managing information technology across Idaho. By driving strategic policy and cultivating a collaborative environment, the ITA is transforming technology governance into a shared mission across state agencies.


Strategic Planning and Policy Development
Prepares statewide short-range and long-range information technology and telecommunications systems plans to meet the needs of state agencies.
Establishes statewide information technology and telecommunications policies, standards, guidelines, and risk assessment criteria.
Recommends the enactment or promulgation of any statutes or rules necessary to carry out the statewide information technology and telecommunications plans.

Oversight and Evaluation
Reviews and approves large-scale information technology and telecommunication projects.
Ensures compliance with statewide information technology and telecommunication plans.
Coordinates the use and application of information technology and telecommunications resources among state agencies.



Support and Collaboration
Provides technical expertise to state government and other entities upon request.
Encourages cooperative information technology efforts between state and local government, public enterprises, and the public.
Supports education and training opportunities related to information technology and telecommunications.
